Is telehealth therapy available?
Absolutely, I currently offer video and/or phone therapy sessions to residents across California. These sessions are facilitated through Zoom, a secure and HIPAA-compliant platform. Before every session, you'll receive an email containing a link to our virtual therapy room. To join the session, all you need to do is click this link, which will guide you to our virtual waiting room.
Do you accept insurance?
While I don't directly accept insurance, I can provide a superbill for PPO and POS subscribers, which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Please be aware that reimbursement policies can vary. If you're a PPO or POS subscriber and are considering seeking reimbursement for my services, I would advise you to reach out to your insurance provider for details about out-of-network mental health coverage.
What if I haven't identified my therapy goals yet?
If you're unsure about your therapy goals, that's completely fine. The first part of our journey together will involve exploring and defining these goals, which might take a few sessions. It's crucial to remember that your therapy goals may evolve as you progress through therapy. Having a clear direction for therapy will enhance your experience and the benefits you gain from it.
What can I expect during a therapy session?
In a therapy session, you'll have the opportunity to discuss the primary concerns and issues affecting your life. These sessions typically last between 45 to 50 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if needed. Weekly sessions are generally most effective, but if you're going through a crisis or a period of extreme distress, more frequent sessions can be arranged until the crisis subsides.
To maximize the benefits of therapy, it's recommended to spend time reflecting on and processing the discussions from therapy sessions in between appointments. You might also be asked to undertake certain tasks outside of the sessions, like reading a related book or maintaining records, to support your progress in therapy. Being an active participant both during and between sessions is key to getting the most out of therapy
Can you give me an estimate of how long the treatment will take?
The duration of treatment can greatly vary and is dependent on a variety of factors including the nature and severity of the issue you're dealing with, your personal goals for therapy, the treatment approach being used, and your own unique response to therapy.
For some people, short-term therapy of a few weeks to several months might be sufficient, especially if they're dealing with a specific issue or stressor. Others might require long-term therapy that spans several months to a few years, particularly if they're dealing with complex or deeply-rooted issues.
It's also important to note that the pace of progress in therapy can be different for everyone. Some might experience rapid improvements while others might find their progress to be more gradual. This is perfectly normal and is a part of the therapeutic process.
I will work with you to create a treatment plan that suits your specific needs and circumstances, and this plan can be adjusted as needed throughout the course of therapy. Regular check-ins regarding your progress and the effectiveness of therapy can help ensure that the treatment remains beneficial and relevant to your needs.
However, it's crucial to have open discussions with me about your expectations for the duration of treatment. I can provide you with a more accurate estimate based on your individual circumstances and therapy goals.
